I know it works perfectly because I have been using this Roku streamer and the remote control until now.
Features I like:

This 3rd generation model still automatically updates to run the latest OS.  This means it is running the same OS as a new Roku would be if purchased today.

I had downloaded and added all of the streaming apps I required and ran them flawlessly and to their fullest.  I know that some apps cannot be downloaded or do not work well on other streaming devices.

There is a USB port which will recognize a USB storage device so photos, videos and I think music can be streamed to a TV through the Roku.

The Roku Remote Control app, Free from the Apple Store, works perfectly on an iPhone
